FAQ
How thick can these drill? Each bit cuts up to its step thickness: 1/8″ on #1, 5/32″ on #3, 1/16″ on #7, and 9/64″ on #11. That covers most sheet metal, boxes, panels and ductwork. For thicker plate, drill from both sides or use an annular cutter.
Will they drill stainless? Yes, in thin gauges. Use cutting fluid, low speed and steady pressure. For heavy or hardened stainless, use a cobalt step drill.
Can I cut conduit knockouts? Yes. The #11 cuts 7/8″ for 1/2″ conduit and 1-1/8″ for 3/4″ conduit.
